In addition to FCURP's work helping to monitor and report Illinois' overall
progress meeting the goals in the statewide CFSR PIP, FCURP also facilitates
program improvement activities at the local level. At the conclusion of each
Outcome Enhancement Review (OER), each Illinois region develops and implements
a regional PIP to address the casework practice areas identified from OER
findings as needing improvement.
Quarterly PIP workgroup follow-up meetings occur in each region to plan for
regional casework practice-related improvements as they relate to federal
outcomes performance and to monitor how regional PIPs are being implemented
within each POS agency and DCFS Office. Workgroups consist of key DCFS staff
and key representatives from each POS agency within each region, and reflect
the areas of investigations, placement, and intact services. Each group is
co-chaired by a DCFS and POS group member.
Improvement strategies that have come out of the regional PIP process have
centered around improving the impact of positive casework activities on
outcomes within and environment of strong supervision, training and CQI activities.
