Educational/Professional Background

Seth serves as Visiting EmPWR Project Specialist, bringing an interdisciplinary background in psycholinguistics, social research, and therapeutic practice. He holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (2026) and a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics from UIUC (2024). Prior to his current role, he spent two years as a Research Assistant with EmPWR.

Research/Practice Interests

Seth brings extensive research experience, including international research at the Laboratoire de Linguistique Formelle at Université Paris Cité and work within UIUC’s Department of Educational Psychology. Complementing his research background, he also completed a year-long clinical internship as a therapist at Promise Healthcare, grounding his academic research in direct community practice.
